----Problem: When launching XPC Tools I get the following message:

XPC Tools failed to install on your PC.
Please check www.shuttle.com/xcptools for details on current XPC
models supported or contact the technical support team for
assistance.

----Solution: Uninstall XPC Tools and reinstall the program. Try
downloading the installation package once more.

----Problem: I have tried reinstalling XPC Tools but still get the error
message.

----Solution: This is likely due to your system not meeting the
requirements for XPC Tools. Please confirm that your XPC model is
listed in the list of supported models above. If your XPC is listed
as a compatible model you may need to update the BIOS to the latest
version, see below.

----Problem: I may need to update my BIOS.

----Solution: Follow the procedures below to update your system BIOS.

#####################################################################
#####################################################################
Warning: Updating the system BIOS is a high-risk procedure and can
cause irreparable damage to the system if not performed correctly. Do
not proceed unless you are fully aware of the dangers involved.
#####################################################################
#####################################################################

Shuttle strongly recommends that you note all BIOS settings before
proceeding. If you encounter problems after updating the BIOS consult
the furter troubleshooting problems below.
If there is no answer restore the settings and contact Shuttle
Technical Support.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
			To enter the system BIOS
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

1. Restart your XPC system and hold down the Delete key.
2. When you reach the blue BIOS configuration screen use the arrow
keys and the Enter key to navigate through the menus.
3. Press the Esc key to return to a previous menu.
4. Once you have noted all settings select 'Exit Without Saving' from
the main menu.
5. Type 'Y' to exit and restart.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
			Obtaining the latest BIOS file
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

ftp://ftp.shuttle.com/BIOS/utility/winflash.zip

Download the latest BIOS image for your XPC system from the Shuttle
website:
http://global.shuttle.com/Download/Download_Brb.asp

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
			Using Winflash
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Shuttle recommends that you read the Winflash manual included within
the download packing before using Winflash.

1. Launch Winflash by double clicking the file winflash.exe in the
extracted folder.
2. Check the box marked DMI Area.
(Note: It is essential that this option is selected or XPC Tools will
fail to launch even after the update.)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If you want to update the BIOS using the DOS boot disk method, you
must run Awdflash with the /cd switch (e.g. awdflash /cd) XPC Tools
will fail to launch even after the update if you do not use this
switch.

----Problem: I have tried reinstalling XPC Tools and have updated my
system BIOS but I am still receiving the message that XPC Tools
failed to install.

----Solution: First, please confirm that you followed the correct
procedure to clear the DMI area when you updated the BIOS and that
your system meets the requirements to use XPC Tools. Contact Shuttle
technical support for further assistance.

----Problem: After updating the BIOS my XPC system boots, but there is no
video output displayed.

----Solution: This is likely cased by the XPC system's onboard VGA being
re-enabled by the BIOS update. Connect your monitor to the onboard
VGA output and retry.
Consult your user manual for instructions how to disable onboard VGA
to enable you to use your discrete graphics card again.

----Problem: After updating the BIOS my XPC system boots, but a floppy
disk fail error message is displayed.

----Solution: This can happen if the XPC system was previously configured
without a floppy disk drive. Consult your user manuals for
instructions how to disable floppy disk support.

----Problem: After updating the BIOS my XPC system boots, but a keyboard
error message is displayed

----Solution: This can happen if you are using a USB keyboard. Consult
your user manuals for instructions how to enable USB keyboard
support.

----Problem: After updating the BIOS my XPC system boots, but a disk
error message is displayed.

----Solution: This can happen if the XPC system was previously configured
to use SATA hard disk drives, or to use RAID. Consult your user
manuals for instructions how to enable SATA and/or RAID.
